Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev won his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally parting ways with former trainer his previous coach.

Now collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents the player's initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after that period of that year.

The win also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at 21 various events.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive play style and frequent outbursts on court had led some to wonder if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serve.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 early-game break points in a close third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, he clinched victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
